Summer Sewer Credit (Residential Customers Only)

Butler County Department of Environmental Services has instituted a summer sewer credit for usage in the months of June, July, August, September, and October as an allowance for water not discharged into the sewer system.

The charge for sewer service is based on the volume of water delivered to the customer. Since water used for lawn sprinkling, car washing, filling pools, etc., does not normally enter the sewer system, it is considered appropriate and reasonable to make certain allowances for these non-sewage volumes.

During summer months sewer bills will be based on the average water usage during the seven-month winter time period. If you are a new customer and do not have a winter history, you will not be billed for more than 6,000 gallons of sewer for usage during the months of June, July, August, September, and October.
