Large Items / Hazardous Waste

Twice a year, Rumpke will pick up large items that would normally not be picked up on regular trash pick-up days.  These large item pick-up days are always on a Saturday, and occur once in the spring and once in the fall.

Large item pick-up days are advertised on the Monroe website, the City of Monroe Facebook page, and in the Monroe Messenger.

CAN LARGE ITEMS BE PICKED UP ON A NORMAL TRASH DAY?

Rumpke will pick up large items on normal trash collection days as long as they have adequate notice.  If you have a large item that needs to be picked up, please contact Rumpke at (513) 742-2900 AT LEAST 48 HOURS BEFORE YOUR TRASH COLLECTION DAY.

MATTRESS AND UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE PICKUP PROCEDURES
In an effort to help prevent the spread of bedbugs, the Board of Health now requires all mattresses, box springs, and upholstered furniture to be completely sealed in plastic before any trash vendor can pick them up. This plastic can be the sheeting that painters use or garbage bags that have been secured with duct tape. Plastic furniture/mattress bags may also be purchased at local hardware stores.
