Coronavirus Information

In an effort to reduce the exposure of both the public and our staff to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Monroe is taking precautionary steps effective Monday, March 16, 2020, until further notice.  There will be no public access to the City Building located at 233 South Main Street or the Public Works Building located at 1000 Holman Avenue.  There will continue to be access to the Police Department.  All departments will be available via email or telephone. 

Development/Building/Zoning/Property Maintenance – permits are to be submitted via email.  For questions or submissions contact planning@monroeohio.org or 513-539-7374.

Finance – Income tax payments and utility payments can be made by phone, mail, or the drop box located near the Police Department entrance.  As of Monday, March 23, 2020, we will be available to assist you with tax questions via phone and email during standard business hours.  You can call the tax office at 513-539-7374, option 3 or email tax@monroeohio.org.  All tax preparation will be processed by mail.  Please submit your tax documents via mail, fax, drop box, or the secure portal.  Contact the tax office to obtain access to the secure portal.  Contact the tax office at tax@monroeohio.org or utility office at UB@monroeohio.org.  You can also contact both offices by calling 513-539-7374.  The deadline to file your City of Monroe, State of Ohio, and Federal income taxes has been extended to July 15, 2020, for 2019 tax year.

Fire Department – all public education classes, fire inspections, and tours are suspended.  High risk/high hazard inspections to be reviewed by Fire Administration. Family members will not accompany patients to the hospital unless determined to be critical to the transport.  For questions contact fire@monroeohio.org or 513-539-8380.  Emergencies call 9-1-1.

Police Department – fingerprinting services are suspended and the Citizens Police Academy is cancelled.  For questions contact police@monroeohio.org or 513-539-9234.  Emergencies call 9-1-1.
