Also, please note:

City income tax forms for 2016 will be posted on our website in late December or early January. Postcards will be sent to our residents in late January. Residents are encouraged to call or email the tax office to report any name and/or address changes.

Looking ahead to filing returns for the 2016 tax year, there is a new requirement mandated by the State. A copy of page one of an individual's federal tax return must accompany their local return. As usual, returns must also include all W2s and, if applicable, Schedule C, E, and F and 1099-MISCs. Any Form 2106 employee business expense must include federal Schedule A.  Any return received without the required 1040 will not be considered filed.

Other State mandated changes include increased penalty for late filing. The new penalty is $25 per month, not to exceed $150.

Don't forget to sign up for our new tax alert system. Sign up can be completed online or by email. If sign up is requested via email, please include your name, address, and email address.

Offices will be closed on December 23rd and 26th for the Christmas Holiday, January 2nd for the New Year's Holiday, and January 16th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Day.

Income Tax staff is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to provide free assistance with the preparation of City forms. No appointment is necessary.
