Training is an everyday part of the Monroe Firefighters job, each day the men and women of the fire department receive training to keep their skills the highest level possible.  The Monroe firefighters recently trained on several new pieces of equipment designed to aid in care of patients. The fire department, through a federal grant, purchased new cardiac monitors that provide a higher level of care for the residents and visitors of Monroe. The Fire Department also placed in service respiratory equipment which was purchased with funding provided by Atrium Medical Center. These devices allow the paramedic to provide a high level of respiratory support to patient without long term effects.
