The Monroe Police Department is pleased to announce that we will be starting our Monroe Safety Town program in July of 2017. The purpose of Monroe Safety Town is to provide a well rounded safety program for children going into kindergarten. We use repetition, interactive activities and structured pla for children regarding present everyday dangers. Monroe Safety Town educates children on safely crossing roads, riding in a car, obeying traffic signs and signals and how to react to fires. The Monroe Safety Town program will be free to all participants.
Monroe Safety Town will host a morning class, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon class, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Classes will begin on July 10th, 17th, and 24th. Each class will be one week long.
Classes will be held in the Monroe Primary School Gymnasium. Classes will be limited to 20 students. You can pick up an application at the Monroe Police Department located at 233 South Main Street or download one here.
