The City of Monroe is strategically located between the Cincinnati and Dayton metropolitan markets along the rapidly growing Interstate 75 corridor.  The City has a land area of 16 square miles with approximately 3,815 acres of land currently zoned for industrial use. The Butler-Warren County line runs through the eastern third of the City.

Both Butler County and Warren County are consistently ranked as two of the fastest growing counties in the State of Ohio.  Warren County grew by 40% between 1990 and 2000; it continued to grow by 30% between 2000 and 2007.  Butler County grew by 14% between 1990 and 2000 and an additional 7% between 2000 and 2007.  Monroe has similarly grown significantly over the past decade.  The 2010 Census count was 12,442 and Monroe continues to experience residential, commercial, and industrial growth.
