Public Records Policy

  • A Public Record will be defined as any document in a fixed medium format that is created, received, or sent, under the jurisdiction of this office and defines the activities of this office.
  • All records in this office are Public Records unless specifically exempted from disclosure under Federal Law or Ohio Revised Code.
  • Public Records will be available for prompt inspection during normal business hours of this office. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.
  • Copies of Public Records will be provided within a reasonable time of the request. This office may charge per page for copies made.

The City of Monroe has a Public Records Policy and a Schedule of Records Retention. You may obtain either of these documents by contacting the Clerk of Council.
