The City, in partnership with the land use planning firm Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC), has kicked off the process of performing a comprehensive update to the Monroe Planning and Zoning Code. The purpose of this project is to improve functionality, modernize, and develop regulatory solutions, specifically tailored to the Monroe community. It is a continued effort to enhance the livability and appeal of Monroe for its residents, businesses, and visitors. Drafting and adoption of updated regulations is a key step in the implementation of many of the recommendations of the Advance Monroe 2040 Comprehensive Plan. Public participation and stakeholder engagement will be a critical part of this process.
